Honourable representing Saki West state constituency in Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Shittu Ibraheem Aremu has officially resume office.
This came after INEC has declared Hon. Shittu Ibraheem as the winner of the re-run election which comes up on the 3rd of February, 2024.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to newsmen by his Head of Staff, Mr. Olanrewaju Gafar in Ibadan.
Recalled that, the seat of honourable representing Saki West state constituency has been declared vacant for a long period of time.
During the 2023 general elections, Hon. Shittu Ibraheem Aremu defeated the serving lawmaker, Hon Femi Julius Okedoyin, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and others
On September 14, The National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal for Oyo State ordered a rerun election for the Saki West state constituency.
The rerun was conducted in Odo-osun unit 007 in Ogidigbo area and Ogbalanja polling unit 019 in Sepeteri/Bapon registration area
Announcing the rerun election results, the Presiding officer, Professor Olusola Oyewo said Hon. Shittu Ibrahim polled 13,850 votes votes to defeat Hon. Julius Okedoyin, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 13, 670 votes.
While resuming office, Hon. Shittu Ibraheem Aremu has therefore promise all constitutes dividend of democracy and also assured uncommon representation.
