The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Saki West Local Government Area has reaffirmed its commitment to good governance, unity, and community development despite the recent exit of some members to other political parties.

In a statement signed by the party’s elder, **Hon. Adekunle Tunji Rafiu**, the PDP said it respected the right of individuals to make political choices but assured loyal members that the party remained focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Saki West and Oyo State at large.

“We acknowledge the concerns that have led some members to seek new political destinations. However, the PDP remains steadfast in its ideals and commitment to the progress of our beloved Saki West,” the statement read.

The party highlighted the remarkable achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde under the PDP-led administration in Oyo State, including economic growth, educational reforms, improved healthcare delivery, infrastructure expansion, and enhanced security through the Amotekun Corps.

According to the statement, Governor Makinde’s administration has grown Oyo’s economy from ₦2.75 trillion to ₦4.05 trillion, attracted ₦35 billion in private investments, recruited 7,500 teachers and 1,500 health workers, and completed over 335 kilometers of roads across the state.

At the local level, the PDP in Saki West noted significant strides in road construction, water supply, youth empowerment, and women’s development, all aimed at improving the welfare of residents.

Hon. Adekunle Rafiu acknowledged that no political party is without internal challenges but emphasized that the PDP’s achievements and inclusive vision provide a strong foundation for progress.

“Let us remain focused on our mission and remember that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Together, we can build a better future for Saki West,” he added.

The statement concluded with an appeal for unity, loyalty, and renewed commitment among members as the party continues to strengthen its base ahead of future elections.
