The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Saki West Local Government, on Sunday feted Barrister Sarafadeen Lateef Onijo following his induction into the International Peace Institute and member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators.
In recognition of his achievements, the party organized a reception in his honour at the Digital Hall, Oredegbe, Saki where he was celebrated as a proud and committed member of the PDP.
Recalled that Barr. Onijo was inducted into the Global Peace Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Fellow of the Institute of Global Peace and Conflict Management and also certified as a member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators. In acknowledgment of his unwavering commitment to peacebuilding and conflict resolution, the Institute conferred on him the prestigious Global Peace Hall of Fame Distinguished Fellowship.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Tunji Rafiu Adekunle, Chairman of the Oyo State Pension Board, eulogized Barr. Onijo, describing him as an industrious and dedicated personality, and prayed that Allah grant him continued success and greater accomplishments.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, emphasized that the “cord that binds us together is the PDP.” He commended Barr. Onijo for his steadfast loyalty to the party and urged other members to emulate his exemplary commitment, while praying for God’s continued blessings upon him.
The event was graced by several PDP leaders and stakeholders, including Engineer Hamid Gbadamosi, member of the PDP Board of Trustees; Alhaji Lateef Koomi; Alhaji Waheed Oluwakemi, Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde on Ifedapo; Mr. Kehinde Adetola, former Vice Chairman of Saki West Local Government; the incumbent Chairman of Saki West Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Akinola; and his Chief of Staff, Mr. Oladeji Oluwaseun.
