Peace found its way back to Old Ifedapo federal constiruency PDP as Barrister Sarafadeen Abiola Onijo emerges new Governing council chairman of The Oke Ogun polytechnic Saki, Oyo state.
Recall that the state Governor His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde announced his appointment in a letter dated 13th September 2022 through the Secretary to the State Government as the new Chairman Governing Council of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic.
Barrister Sarafadeen Abiola Onijo confirmed the new development to pressmen in attendance and PDP elders from the constituency at the event held at Primrose Model college on the 16th of September, 2022.
It will be recalled that there was disagreement within the Federal constituency PDP members after the conclusion of the primaries that lasted some months in court before the issue was finally settled through the intervention of the oyo state governor Engineer Seyi Makinde and other stakeholders of the ruling party in oyo state.
In the meeting that was conveyed by Barrister Onijo himself and presided over by Alhaji Rafiu Adekunle witnessed the teaming supporters of barrister Onijo, former PDP Oyo North senatorial chairman Waheed Oluwakemi, Alhaji Shittu Kekere, Alhaji Rafiu Tunji Adekunle and other top members of the PDP in the federal constituency.
Alhaji Rafiu Adekunle who presides over the meeting showed his happiness that peace is finally restored to the constituency and he didn’t take time to sing the praise of Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde for wadding into the matter and also maintaining that the decision to appoint Barrister Onijo as the new chairman of the oke Ogun polytechnic, Saki governing council is the right decision to quench the burning fire amongst aggrieved members of the party to make them focus on channeling a victorious way in the forthcoming General election in the country.
Mr Waheed Oluwakemi, former PDP Oyo north senatorial chairman in his own remarks appreciates everyone who contributed to the settlement of the just ended crisis that paved way for the appointment of Barrister Onijo as TOPS new governing council chairman and also assured everyone of his continuous tireless efforts towards the success of the party.
A popular chieftain of the party who double as the Secretary of Saki West Local Government, Eruobodo couldn’t hold his joy at the appointment of Barrister Sarafadeen Abiola Onijo as TOPS governing council chairman and also extolled the governor of the state for taking the right decision with courage while he also charge every member to put all hands on deck to make sure Barrister Onijo records success in his new role and also for the Party to records victory in the forthcoming general election.
With a beaming joy on his face, the newly appointed governing council chairman of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Barrister S.A. Lateef Onijo appreciate the elders of the PDP and that of Saki as a whole for ensuring peace is restored to the party and region at large with a special gratitude to the king of the town His Royal Majesty Oba Surv. Khalid Olabisi Ado with the way he handled the matter while he also gave kudos to the valuable contributions of party elders like Senator Alleluyah and the PDP chairman in the state and also PDP Senatorial candidate in Oyo North Akinwale Akinwole Wolekanle.
He furthered exalt the governor Seyi Makinde for the outstanding wisdom he used in settling the matter while also describing him as the messiah oyo state need. He also took minutes to thank his supporters who stood by him throughout the storm, encouraged them to embrace peace and ensure they all work assiduously to make GSM and all PDP candidates records victory in the forthcoming election.
The meeting which also served as the moment for party members to have fun, reflect, reconcile and restrategize to ensure victory on all sides in the forthcoming elections.
