The Rector of The Polytechnic, Iresi, Dr. Adewoyin Azeez Olakunle, has expressed his strong support for the forthcoming edition of Iresi Beacon magazine, a publication by the Mass Communication Department of the institution.
During a courtesy visit to his office on Tuesday, the editorial board of the magazine, led by the Head of Department, Mr. Abdullahi Salaudeen, briefed the Rector on the objectives and progress of the project. In response, Dr. Adewoyin commended the team’s initiative and the creativity demonstrated by the students.
He described the magazine project as a commendable academic and professional endeavour, urging the students to maintain a high standard of excellence in their work. The Rector encouraged them to lead by example, remain resilient in the face of challenges, and be willing to make meaningful sacrifices for the benefit of others.
Dr. Adewoyin also advised the editorial team to seek mentorship and guidance from experienced media professionals in order to produce a publication that reflects both quality and professionalism. According to him, learning from past experiences and avoiding recurring mistakes will be key to delivering a magazine the entire institution can be proud of.
The Rector concluded by reaffirming his administration’s full backing for the initiative and expressed confidence in the students’ capacity to deliver an outstanding publication that would positively project the image of the Polytechnic.
The Institution shall continue to go far beyond imagination.
