Prof. Akande Attends 4-Year Remembrance of Ajimobi

In a heartfelt tribute, Prof. Adeolu Akande, the immediate past chairman of the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC), joined family, friends, and associates to commemorate the four-year remembrance of Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, the former Governor of Oyo State. The event took place at Ajimobi’s Oluyole Estate residence, where prayers were offered for the repose of his soul.

Prof. Akande shared his reflections on the occasion via his official Twitter account, highlighting the significance of the gathering and the enduring legacy of Sen. Ajimobi. “It was four years that Senator Abiola Ajimobi, former Governor of Oyo State, passed on to the great beyond. Family, friends, and associates gathered at his Oluyole Estate residence to offer prayers for the repose of his beautiful soul,” Akande tweeted.

Akande attended the remembrance event alongside notable figures who served under Sen. Ajimobi’s administration. These included Hon. Yekini Popoola, Chairman of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Oyo State; Hon. Olarinre Adisa Adeniji, former Chairman of Itesiwaju Local Government; Hon. Modepoola Egunjobi, former Chairman of Iwajowa Local Government; and Hon. Dejo Adebisi, former Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Gov. Ajimobi.

In his tweet, Akande expressed his prayers and well-wishes for Sen. Ajimobi and his family. “May God grant him eternal rest and continue to protect and prosper the family he left behind,” he concluded.

Sen. Abiola Ajimobi, who served as the Governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, left a lasting impact on the state through his various developmental projects and policies. The remembrance event served as a testament to his enduring influence and the deep respect held by those who worked closely with him.
