As Muslims across Nigeria commence the sacred month of Ramadan, gubernatorial aspirant of the (APC), Dr. Gbenga Adegbola, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah, urging them to dedicate the holy period to prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity and sustainable development.
In his Ramadan message made available to the press, Dr. Adegbola described the fasting season as a profound time of spiritual renewal, self-discipline and compassion. He noted that Ramadan offers a unique opportunity for personal reflection and collective supplication, particularly at a time when Nigeria faces pressing socio-economic and security challenges.
“I heartily felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters as they begin this holy month of Ramadan,” he stated. “May this sacred season strengthen our faith, deepen our compassion for one another, and inspire us to pray fervently for the progress and stability of our dear nation.”
The APC governorship hopeful emphasised that the virtues embedded in Ramadan — sacrifice, patience, charity and devotion — are essential ingredients for nation-building. According to him, Nigeria’s advancement requires not only sound policies and visionary leadership, but also moral regeneration and unity among its citizens.
Dr. Adegbola urged Muslims to remember Nigeria in their daily prayers throughout the fasting period, asking for divine wisdom for leaders, healing for communities affected by hardship, and renewed hope for the country’s youth. He also called for strengthened interfaith harmony, noting that peaceful coexistence remains a cornerstone for sustainable development.
“As we seek Allah’s mercy and forgiveness during this blessed month, let us also seek His guidance for Nigeria’s transformation. Let us pray for leaders who will serve with integrity, for citizens who will act with responsibility, and for a nation that will rise above its challenges,” he added.
