… Calls For Unity and Harmony
The Youth Wing of the Saki Muslim Community which is an affiliation of the Saki Muslim Community held its first general meeting at Ansaruddeen Society High School, Saki in Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The purpose of the meeting is mainly to strengthen unity among Saki Muslim youth and to address some issues affecting the affairs of the entire Muslim body.
It appreciated leaders within the Saki Muslim Ummah for embracing peaceful and harmonious relationships and called on Muslim youths to continue to support the peacebuilding process in the interest of Islam.
The Abdulrosheed Okiki-led interim Saki Muslim Community Youth Wing Committee therefore urged all members to always partake in peaceful coexistence instead of fueling crisis in the community.
The body also used the avenue to advise all bloggers and social media users to desist from deploying social media to cause disunity among the adherents of the Islamic faith in Saki.
In his remarks, Imam Abdwasii Olaide Oruma acknowledged the effort of everyone who took part in the peace-building process in the community and enjoined the interim leadership to embrace all tendencies within the ummah.
Mr. Saheed Ibrahim Adesokan, for his part, appreciated the organisers of the meeting for their relentless efforts in bringing the youth together and prayed for more development within the Muslim community.
Earlier in his lecture, Ustaadh Sadiq Ali encouraged the youths to make meaningful contributions to the development of Islam.
Other members of the body contributed meaningfully towards the development of the youth wing of the Muslim Community.
The meeting resolved that the interim body should continue for the next one year and draft a constitution to coordinate the activities of the body with cognizance to the dictates of Islam.
In attendance were some of the Executive members of the Saki Muslim Community, the Interim Executive of the Youth Wing, and other members of the wing.
