The youth across the three local governments of Saki West, Saki East, and the ATISBO federal constituency, under the platform of the coalition for better governance, have passed a vote of confidence on the honorable elected to represent the constituency at the lower chamber of the National Assembly, Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Wéré, to assume the position of deputy speaker of the house.
The group declared this at her monthly meeting, which was held at Tede, the headquarters of the ATISBO local government, where representatives from across the towns under the local governments that formed the constituency met for this month’s crucial meeting and for purposes of community development.
During the meeting, the motion was raised on the observation that the deputy speaker position of the National Assembly was zoned to the south-west geo-political zone, and this sparked a reaction among the youth to put Hon. Tajudeen Abisodun Were in the process of assuming the position, holding to the background of his versed knowledge of legislative duty, oversight function, and nation building.
According to the chairman of the group, Solomon Adeshina, who spoke to the pressmen after the event, described Hon. Wéré as a learned legislator with over eight years experience in national politics and law making who has proved himself on many occasions to be a pro-Nigerian lawmaker rather than a politician with the sole interest of milking the nation dry through the opportunity given to them.
“Hon. Wéré is an advocate of progressive Nigeria and rewarding democracy; he so much loves Nigeria and works towards the United Country in any of the opportunities given to him; this can be seen in his twice stints at the National Assembly, where he represented his constituency justly and carried all the towns under him along by giving what is due to everyone.”
He noted his innovative idea and community development idea with a world-class approach, which later served as a prototype for other legislators to copy.
“Do you know that in Nigeria, Hon. Wéré was one of the few leaders who started the implementation and adoption of renewable power for the benefit of the environment and the people in it? This was done when he was in the House of Representatives for the second time as of 2012, where he distributed solar power for all the communities in his constituency. This shows how innovative he is, and the world is now clamoring for green energy after he has adopted it for more than eight years.”
While reacting to the endorsement, a member of the Hon. Wéré political group who was there to witness the event, Mr. Sheu Megida, appreciated the efforts of this group for coming out to support his boss and also wanting the best for the constituency. He added that this political process is a collective responsibility that all and sundry must support to move Nigeria to the promise land, noting the combination of Hon. Wéré’s expertise and that of President-Elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s on nation building, which can only result in the desired success that Nigeria needs at this moment.
He called on Oke-Ogun indigenes to support this political agenda with prayer and connections given to every individual, as this will birth a desired development for the region and Nigeria at large.
Com. Adisa Adedigba corroborated the stand of Megida by affirming the commitment of Hon. Wéré to use his experience in 10th Assembly to build a rewarding relationship between the executive and legislature for a better country for all.
Also present at the event are supporters of Hon. Abisodun across the three local governments aside from the members of coalition for better governance.
