Saki West Local Government witnessed a swearing-in ceremony today as Hon. Gbenga Akinola Olaleye and Hon. Salaudeen Soliu took the oath of office as the Acting Chairman and vice Chairman respectively. The ceremony followed the suspension of the incumbent chairman, Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde, and the House Leader, Hon. Salaudeen Quadri Amao.
The event, held at the local government secretariat, was officiated by Barrister Sarafadeen Onijo, the legal retainer of the West Local Government.
In compliance with the directive, Hon. Gbenga Akinola, who previously served as the Vice Chairman, was appointed as the Acting Chairman. Similarly, Hon. Salaudeen Soliu, a Legislative member of the Local government, assumed the position of Acting vice Chairman.
In his speech, Hon. Gbenga Akinola expressed gratitude for the opportunity given to serve in this capacity and pledged to work tirelessly to restore the trust of the people and address the challenges facing the local government. He emphasized his commitment to transparency, accountability, and all inclusive governance, promising to implement policies and programme that will enhance the quality of life for all residents.
He also promised to replicate people oriented programme of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde.
Hon. Salaudeen Soliu, in his remarks, acknowledged the responsibility bestowed upon him as the acting vice Chairman and assured the people of Saki West Local Government of his unwavering dedication to their welfare. He highlighted the need for unity and cooperation among council members and pledged to work in harmony with the Acting Chairman to achieve the set goals.
The swearing-in ceremony concluded on a positive note, with attendees expressing optimism about the new leadership and their ability to steer Saki West Local Government towards progress and prosperity. The acting chairman and vice chairman have now assumed their respective roles and are expected to immediately commence their duties.
As the local government enters a new phase of administration, the people of Saki West anticipate positive changes, effective governance, and fulfillment of their aspirations under the leadership of Hon. Gbenga Akinola and Salaudeen Soliu.
