250 Agripreneurs Empowered as Part of Effort to Boost Regional Agricultural Growth
Senator Sadiq Umar proudly announced the successful conclusion of the yearly Agricultural Enhancement Training Program, which continues to empower agripreneurs in Kwara North. This year’s event brought together 150 agripreneurs selected from the five local government areas in the region, in addition to the initial 100 beneficiaries from earlier sessions.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Senator Umar expressed his excitement over the program’s success: “I’m thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of our recent agricultural enhancement training program, held on Monday 19th November 2024. This initiative, which is a yearly scheme, brought together 150 agripreneurs selected across the five local government areas in Kwara North in addition to the initial 100 beneficiaries.”
With a total of approximately 250 constituents benefiting from this year’s program, the senator emphasized the initiative’s goal of inspiring more youth to engage in agribusiness and help unlock the immense agricultural potential of the region. He stated, “Our goal is to empower more youth and inspire more people to embrace agribusiness and unlock the immense potential of our region’s agricultural productivity.”
The training is part of a broader strategy to support the agricultural sector, which also includes the recent distribution of fertilizers and other critical farm inputs to farmers across Kwara North. This concerted effort aims to enhance agricultural productivity and provide local farmers with the necessary tools to succeed.
The senator concluded his post with a reaffirmation of his commitment to the region’s growth, saying, “We remain committed to enhancing the growth of our region through infrastructural and human capital development.”
