Must read

President Bola Tinubu is set to present the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the National Assembly next week Tuesday, marking a significant step in the country’s financial planning for the coming year.

The announcement was made today by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during plenary on the floor of the Senate. Akpabio confirmed that the budget presentation will take place at the House of Representatives Chamber, where lawmakers will gather to receive the fiscal blueprint for 2025.

Earlier this week, on Tuesday, President Tinubu submitted the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) for the period 2025-2027 to both the Senate and the House of Representatives. These documents lay the groundwork for the forthcoming budget by outlining the government’s projected revenue and expenditure over the medium term.

Following the submission of the MTEF and FSP, Senate President Akpabio directed the Senate Committees on Finance, National Planning, and Economic Affairs to examine the documents and provide their report within one week. This review process is essential to ensure that the proposed fiscal framework aligns with the nation’s economic priorities and legislative expectations.
