Women Too Africa, in partnership with Saki Youth Organization, organized a training on Digital Rights and Gender Justice on Saturday at Oredegbe Hall, Saki, Oyo State, with emphasis on protecting women and safeguarding civil society in digital spaces.
The training, themed “Navigating Digital Spaces with Justice: Protecting Women, Safeguarding Civil Society,” was attended by civil society representatives, student leaders, and members of the Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) community. The event, which started at 9:30 AM, was convened by Busari Robiat and supported by CIVICUS.
Habeeb Daranijo served as the lead facilitator for the digital rights and gender justice session, while Hon. Salaudeen Kabeer Adebayo, Councillor representing Ward 4 and Majority Leader of the Saki West Legislative Arm, delivered a lecture on the NGO Bill.
Notable participants included Com. Adebayo Qowiy, President of the National Union of Saki Students, members of the Aridunu Family, various civil society organizations in Saki, and the PWDs community.
The initiative addresses growing concerns about online safety, digital rights, and the protection of vulnerable groups in digital spaces. It represents part of Women Too Africa’s ongoing mission to empower, inspire, and encourage women and civil society actors to navigate the increasingly complex digital landscape.
The partnership between Women Too Africa and Saki Youth Organization aims to build capacity within local communities to address gender-based challenges in the digital age while safeguarding operational space for civil society organizations.
