The Governing Council Chairman of the Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Barr. Sarafadeen Onijo, has donated cash and plastic buckets to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) general meeting and wards today.
The gesture was made today when he attended the meeting and supported the movement for the re-election of the governor and candidates of the party.
During the visit, he donated 100,000 Naira for the members of the party in general meeting, 25,000 for the executive, and dozens of plastic buckets across the wards.
In his speech, he noted that the welfare of party members should be sacrosanct to every appointee and office holder of the government, as well as individuals who are financially independent in the party.
“It is very important to ensure the welfare of our party members is maintained and properly cared for.”
“They are the real soldiers who spread the gospel of the party to the grassroots level, and we must ensure to treat them well.
“He added that this action is to appreciate the efforts of the members of the party who are working tirelessly to sustain the second term bid of the governor as well as other candidates of the party.
While appreciating the donor for his philanthropic contributions to the party, the chairman of the PDP Saki West chapter, Alhaji Wasiu Ayesoro, said, “This is really commendable, and we must thank Barrister for having the interest of the party in his mind and also taking the welfare of the party into cognizance.”
He further described the action as thoughtful and time-bound, and he implores the party members to continue supporting him in their prayers.
Also, Adewale Khadijat added that this is uncommon among the party appointees to value the welfare of the people and support them always like Onijo did. She appreciates him and prays for the best.
After the meeting, 30 plastic buckets each were donated to the 11 wards in Saki west which is calculated to be over 300 while 25 pieces were given to the party executive.
