Barr. Sarafadeen Onijo has commenced the reconstruction of Oke-oro bridge which has posed threats to commuter lives in Saki west Local Government Area of Oyo state
Barr. Onijo made it known while flagging off the reconstruction of the bridge on Tuesday.
He said, “It’s not everything that the community will be waiting for the government to rescue them from, there’s nothing bad for everyone of us to also help the government to ease the things for them as it will serve as our civic reponsibity.”
“Two years ago the bridge collapsed and I took it upon myself to help the community to construct the bridge and to God be the glory we are here for reconstruction again when the bridge collapse due to the heavy loads trucks passing through the bridge.” He said.
He added that “This is not the very first one that I have been doing, have done similar thing in Darul Salam even before I was appointed as the Chairman Governing council of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki and I will continue to do more.”
He furthered by giving kudos to Governor Seyi Makinde for the job well done in the state and also thanks him for being a listening Governor, he prayed that the second term we surely be an easy ride for Seyi Makinde by Allahs grace. He concluded.
While appreciating Barrister Onijo, Chief Amzat Lawal Ishola who is Ajiroba of Saki said “With the reconstruction of the new, standard bridge, the residents and passersby will finally experience relief.”
Also the vice chairman of Oke oro community showered encomium on Barrister Onijo and pray for him that he will succeed in all his endeavour.
Another community stakeholder who spoke on behalf of the community expressed their gratitude for the thoughtfulness and very delight on the pace of work.
