BE SELF RELIANCE – OMIRINDE CHARGES YOUTH

it was an historic and solution provided event at Saki city Hall when Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde charges youth to be self-reliant and deviate from living a dependent life through economic crisis and political instability in the country.

This was contained in a statement released by Head of Information unit Saki West local government, Alh. Dauda Aderogba which reads;

“The Executive Chairman of Saki West local government, Engr. Sarafadeen Ahmed Omirinde has charged Nigerian Youths to arrest the depreciating economy in the country by empowering themselves through opportunities provided by agriculture and vocational training.”


“The council boss, who is also the vice Chairman of ALGON in the state, stated this during a programme tagged, “Saki Youth Summit” organised by Saki Youth to address the socio-economic problem in our society, held at Saki city Hall, Saki.
Omirinde who was the Chief host of the event admonished the youths to think beyond white collar job and look for unending opportunities provided by agriculture which includes food production, functional economic contribution among others which are visible source of income to individual and the nation at large.”


“He added that it is high time for Nigerian to have multiple source of income in order to reduce poverty in our society.
He acknowledged the support of Oyo state government under the leadership of Engr. Seyi Makinde on youth empowerment, he cited Youth Entrepreneurship in Agribusiness Project (YEAP) as a typical example of job creation and economic development programme by the government of the day.”


“He used the opportunity to charge the beneficiaries of Governor Makinde sponsored Nasarawa entrepreneur training to utilize the opportunity for the benefit of the state and the country at large.
In the same vein, Omirinde identified the negligence of our society on technical education which is fading out, he urged for the patronage of the school, where the best technicians can be produced, he said it will reduce unemployment in our society, he highlighted his efforts in reviving the sector of the education in Saki by taking the campaign to all the grassroots and concerned groups in the town and charged the youth to support him in doing that.”
He therefore promised the youth that his government will support them in bringing development to the land and eradicate the crimes in the society.
The event was graced by The Okere of Sakiland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Surv Khalid Olabisi Ilugbemidepo, The Chief Justice of Oyo state, Justice Muntar Abimbola represented by Mr. Kazeem Afonja, member of Oyo state House of Assembly representing Saki West LG, Hon. Femi Julius, The political Head of Asabari LCDA, Hon. Mudasiru Busari Eruobodo and the trio of guest lecturers Prof. Y.K Yusuff, Dr. Y.Y Muslim, Mr. M.O Oladeji and other distinguished guests.
