A non-partisan and development-oriented group named “Oke-Ogun Centrepiece Alliance” is about to officially inaugurated for public awareness and participation.
This movement is seeded to promote educational advancement, facilitate entrepreneurship and advocate for positive development in Oke-Ogun region of Oyo State.
The movement is championed by an academia son of the zone named Prof. Yisa Kehinde Yusuf.
The inaugural meeting of the alliance will come up on Wednesday 30TH December, 2021 at Prof. Yusuf’s residence in Oje-Owode, Saki East by 11:00am.
This is declared through the statement released by the movement which reads;
“OKE-OGUN CENTREPIECE ALLIANCE”
“The Oke-Ogun Centrepiece Alliance is a non-partisan, not-for-profit group of Oke-Ogun indigenes from all walks of life focused on the development of the region.”
“The Oxford Dictionary (online) defines centrepiece as “an ornament or display placed in the middle of a dining table” and as “an item, issue, etc. intended to be a focus of attention.” The Cambridge English Dictionary (online) also defines it as “the most important or attractive part or feature of something.”
“At the core of the membership of the outfit is a group of individuals from Oke-Ogun who have demonstrated unassailable commitment to or are interested in the promotion of education in the region.”
To have an Oke-Ogun which is united for progress.
To strive for the educational advancement of Oke-Ogun as a catalyst for the overall development of the region.
(a) To promote the educational advancement of Oke-Ogun at all levels.
(b) To facilitate the entrepreneurial empowerment of individuals and groups of Oke-Ogun origin.
(c) To undertake pro-Oke-Ogun advocacy in all realms of society.
(d) To engage in any other activities that would enhance the development of Oke-Ogun.
