The Executive Chairman of Saki West LG, Engr. Sarafadeen Ahmed Omirinde has joined Governor Seyi Makinde and indigenes of Ibadan in mourning the demise of His Imperial Majesty, Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 who joined his ancestors early hours of Sunday.
Omirinde in a statement issued offered condolences to The governor of the state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the royal family, Olubadan-in-council and Ibadan indigenes home and beyond.
The Council boss said the loss of the monarch which came weeks after the transition of Soun of Ogbomoso was a great loss to the traditional institution in the state and Yorubaland at large. Making reference to exceptional role played by the traditional authority in steering peace and unity in the state and the country at large.
The chairman described the late monarch as a brilliant, selfless and compassionate leader who valued peace and unity in the state and took welfare of his subjects as priority. He added that the monarch has recorded life-changing achievement during his service to Ibadanland and prayed to Allah in His mercy to receive his return and grant the people of Ibadan and Oyo state in general the fortitude to bear the loss.
