President Bola Tinubu has urged the senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, AbdulFatai Buhari, to work towards the electoral success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, particularly in the Oke-Ogun area, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The president reportedly made the appeal when he met with Buhari on Friday night.
The meeting was attended by the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS).
Buhari, a three-term senator and former member of the House of Representatives from Ogbomoso, was said to have been urged by Tinubu to return to his political base and mobilise support for the APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The president specifically appealed to the senator to work for his re-election bid, as well as the success of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the APC governorship candidate in Oyo State, and other party candidates across the state.
Tinubu was also said to have emphasised the need for Buhari to concentrate on the Oke-Ogun axis, where the party is seeking to strengthen its grassroots mobilisation and improve its electoral prospects.
Buhari represents Oyo North Senatorial District, which comprises local government areas across Oke-Ogun and other parts of the senatorial zone.

The meeting comes amid political consultations and mobilisation by parties ahead of the 2027 general election, with party leaders expected to play key roles in consolidating support for their candidates.
