Tributes have continued to pour in following the sudden death of the Alamodu of Ago-Amodu, His Royal Highness Oba Johnson Akinloye Olaoye, as Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun has expressed deep condolences to the people of Saki East Local Government Area and the wider Oke-Ogun region.
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, Hon. Abisodun described the late monarch as a distinguished traditional ruler whose influence transcended his immediate domain. He noted that although Oba Olaoye’s reign was relatively short, it was characterized by purposeful leadership, peacebuilding efforts, and a strong commitment to community development.
The revered monarch, who passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, was a central figure in Ago-Amodu, where his leadership was instrumental in fostering unity and stability. His death has cast a shadow of mourning over the community, with residents and stakeholders reflecting on the legacy he leaves behind.
According to Hon. Abisodun, the late Oba’s dedication to preserving cultural heritage while embracing progressive governance set him apart as a bridge between tradition and modern administrative ideals. He emphasized that the monarch played a vital role in strengthening ties between the people and government authorities, particularly in areas of conflict resolution and grassroots mobilization.
“Kabiyesi’s transition is a profound loss not just to Ago-Amodu but to the entire region. His wisdom, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of his people will remain a lasting legacy,” the statement noted.
Oba Olaoye ascended the throne in 2020 after receiving his staff of office from Governor Seyi Makinde, and within a few years, earned recognition for his calm disposition and strategic approach to community leadership.
Hon. Abisodun extended his sympathies to the royal family, traditional chiefs, and the entire Ago-Amodu community, urging them to remain united and uphold the values of peace and cooperation that defined the late monarch’s reign.
He also called on the Alado-in-Council and relevant authorities to ensure that all customary rites and succession processes are conducted with due reverence and in line with established traditions.
“As this great community mourns, I pray that God grants everyone the strength to bear this painful loss and that the soul of Kabiyesi finds eternal rest among his ancestors,” he added.
