Late Sen. Abiola Ajimobi’s son, Idris Abolaji Ajimobi has declared interest to contest the Oyo State House of Assembly seat to represent Ibadan Southwest Constituency ll.
In a declaration speech circulated online, the young Ajimobi said it is a dream come through for him to serve the people of Ibadan Southwest Constituency II.
“Today is a very historical day for me, my family and the people of Ibadan Southwest Constituency II.
“It has always been my childhood dream to serve humanity and presenting my self to serve the good people of IB SW II will avail me the opportunity to achieve this dream.
“I have come before you as your son, to plead for your support and prayers as I cannot do this alone.
“I know a lot of us here knows my father and the unflinching legacy he left behind (May his soul rest in perfect peace), and like his father before him (My grandfather, Alhaji Gani Ajimobi) who also served the good people of this constituency during the 2nd Republic, we shouldn’t let this legacy die and I’ll like to build on his legacy, while charting a course of my own to unite our people, bring the dividends of democracy close to our people.
“On this note I announce today that I’ll be throwing my heart in the ring to contest for the membership of the Oyo State House of Assembly as your representative in Ibadan South West Constituency II.
“With your support and the grace of the Almighty, we shall be victorious.
“Together we can!”.
Meanwhile, earlier today, newsmen reported that Idris Ajimobi is set to be installed as the Aare Akogun Musulumi of Oyo state.
His installation would take place next Sunday 8th, May 2022 at the Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’ba, Ibadan by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh AbdulGaniyy Agbotomokekere.
