The Great Club of Oke Ogun has reaffirmed its commitment to unity, humanitarian service, and spiritual growth as it hosted its annual picnic, a vibrant gathering that brought together members, their families, and distinguished guests in an atmosphere of gratitude and reflection.
At the heart of the event was a deep sense of thanksgiving, as the Chairman of the club, Alhaji Dauda Aderorogba, led members in appreciating God for preserving their lives and sustaining their individual and collective journeys. He emphasized that the continued existence and success of the club were rooted in divine grace.
In his remarks, Aderorogba also paid tribute to the unwavering support of members’ families, particularly their wives and children, noting that peaceful homes remain the backbone of a stable and progressive society. He stressed that the harmony enjoyed within members’ households has significantly contributed to the strength and cohesion of the club.
The Chairman extended special appreciation to the club’s Patron, Chief Sunday Blessing Folydak, and Matron, Alhaja Fasilat Okanlawon, Managing Director of Dorlasfat Nigeria Limited, for their consistent support and guidance, describing their contributions as instrumental to the club’s achievements.
A notable highlight of the picnic was the active involvement of members’ spouses. The wives were encouraged to deliberate on ways to further strengthen and advance the club’s objectives. Their thoughtful observations and recommendations were later presented, underscoring their vital role as partners in the club’s mission and growth.
Spiritual reflection formed a central part of the gathering, with special prayers offered for the continued progress and wellbeing of members. Islamic prayers were led by Alhaji Isa Fasasi Abimojegbe, while Christian prayers were conducted by a clergy, Pastor NA ADEOLA, symbolizing the club’s inclusive and interfaith harmony.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Barr. Y. Y Muslim commended the club for its impactful contributions to societal development and humanitarian efforts across the Oke Ogun region. He urged members to expand their scope of service, encouraging them to scale up their humanitarian interventions to reach more vulnerable communities.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Crescent Club of Saki, Alhaji Khalid Ajibade, lauded the club’s dedication to humanity and offered strategic advice aimed at sustaining its legacy and enhancing its influence.
In her goodwill message, Matron Alhaja Fasilat Okanlawon praised the wives of members for their cooperation, resilience, and steadfast support. She encouraged them to continue fostering unity within their homes, noting that strong families are essential to the success of any organization. In a gesture of appreciation, she also made a cash donation to the wives, recognizing their invaluable contributions.
Hon. Tiamiyu Rahman, the Vice Chairman of Saki West Local Government, delivered the closing remarks. He noted that all the club’s efforts so far have been self-funded, driven by the dedication of their patron and matron. He added that they intend to achieve even more, as long as God continues to strengthen them.
The event also served as a moment to reflect on the club’s recent humanitarian activities. The club had earlier extended support to Special Basic School, Abata Ogun and Oyo State Specialist Hospital, Saki, where members donated cash and food items to support vulnerable groups and healthcare services.

Shittu; Chief Whip Mr. Dauda Abdullahi; Public Relations Officer Mr. Hassan Olusola; alongside several other distinguished members and guests, including Hon. Tiamiyu Rahman.
