A 44-year-old woman has died from Lassa fever at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, marking one of the confirmed cases in the ongoing outbreak, authorities reported.
The state government has swiftly activated its Incident Management System to contain the spread and manage affected individuals.
Officials emphasised that emergency measures are in full operation to curb further transmission.
In a public advisory, residents are urged to uphold strict personal and environmental hygiene, steer clear of contact with rats, and promptly report symptoms like fever, headache, sore throat, or bleeding to the nearest health facility.
The government reassured the public of robust containment efforts, calling for calm amid the response.
