The Member representing Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, has felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary, calling for renewed unity, patriotism and collective commitment towards building a more prosperous and developed Nigeria.

In a goodwill message marking the anniversary, Abisodun extended his greetings to Nigerians at home and abroad, describing the occasion as an opportunity not only to commemorate the nation’s independence but also to reflect on the journey so far, acknowledge the challenges confronting the country and renew the collective determination to strengthen Nigeria’s future.

The federal lawmaker emphasised the importance of togetherness in confronting the social, economic and developmental challenges facing the nation. According to him, meaningful national progress requires Nigerians across ethnic, religious, political and geographical divides to work together in the broader interest of the country.

Abisodun stressed that Nigeria’s diversity should remain a source of strength rather than division, urging citizens to embrace peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and responsible citizenship. He noted that the responsibility for national development extends beyond government and requires the active participation of citizens, community leaders, professionals, businesses, civil society organisations and other stakeholders.

The lawmaker also called for greater commitment to values capable of strengthening the nation’s democratic institutions and fostering sustainable development. He urged Nigerians to continue supporting initiatives that promote education, human capital development, economic opportunity, social stability and improved living conditions.

Reflecting on the significance of Independence Day, Abisodun noted that the sacrifices and aspirations of the country’s founding generation should inspire present-day Nigerians to contribute positively to the nation’s development. He maintained that every citizen has a role to play in building a Nigeria where opportunities are accessible and where future generations can thrive.

He further encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and constructive despite the difficulties confronting the country, stressing that national transformation is a continuous process that requires patience, cooperation and collective responsibility.

As a representative of Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency, Abisodun reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to legislative and developmental efforts aimed at improving the welfare of his constituents and supporting broader national progress. He called on citizens within and beyond the constituency to continue to promote peace, unity and productive engagement.

The lawmaker concluded his anniversary message by urging Nigerians to put the national interest above narrow considerations and work together towards a stronger, more united and prosperous country.

He wished Nigerians a peaceful and meaningful 66th Independence Anniversary, expressing optimism that through collective effort, responsible leadership and active citizenship, the nation can continue to make progress and realise its developmental aspirations.
