The political atmosphere in Oyo State received a major boost on Monday as the Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Adeniyi Olabode Adebisi, officially secured the nomination of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) as its candidate for the House of Representatives ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

The nomination, which emerged after extensive consultations among party leaders, stakeholders, youth groups, and loyalists of the party, was described by supporters as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the APM’s growing influence in Oyo State politics.

Speaking shortly after receiving the nomination, Hon. Adebisi expressed gratitude to the leadership of the APM and members of the constituency for the confidence reposed in him.

He pledged to run an issue-based campaign focused on economic growth, youth empowerment, industrial expansion, agricultural development, and improved access to opportunities for small and medium-scale enterprises. According to him, the decision to seek elective office was inspired by the need to deepen grassroots representation and facilitate policies that directly impact ordinary citizens.

He stressed that the people deserve quality leadership driven by competence, integrity, and practical solutions to socio-economic challenges.

Adebisi, who has served in several strategic capacities within the Oyo State Government, is widely regarded as one of the prominent political figures from the Oke-Ogun axis. Over the years, he has played key roles in promoting investment, trade expansion, cooperative development, and agricultural reforms in the state.
