Must read

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has told the Lagos Batch A, Stream II Corps Members to create value and contribute to the development of their respective Place of Primary Assignments (PPAs).

During a Service Innovation lecture at the Iyana-ipaja orientation camp delivered by Lagos NYSC Official, Mrs Kabirah Arisekola, urged Corps Members to actively seek opportunities to improve the NYSC system, adding more values that will benefit not only the Corp members but the scheme in general. She stressed that innovation plays a significant role in shaping a better service year, enjoining Corps Members to move past outdated approaches.

Mrs Arisekola described Service innovation as a modern direction evolving within the scheme. According to her, health initiative programs, Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, virtual mode of retrieving call up letters amongst others, are innovations driven by the 2021 NYSC Reform Development.

She noted that prior to these recent developments, Corps Members had to go to their universities to get call up letters. However, through service innovation, they can now have access to their call up letters on their dashboards.

While ending her lecture, she encouraged Corps Members to bring fresh energy and new perspectives to their Primary Places of Assignment(PPA), ensuring they contribute positively to their new environments.
