The Kwara Alliance for Tinubu and Shettima (KATS) 2027 has officially inaugurated its Kwara North Senatorial District Executive, marking a key milestone in grassroots mobilisation for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The ceremony, presided over by KATS National Coordinator Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammed Ajia, took place at the Munirat Arike Hotel in Bode Saadu, Moro Local Government Area. The event convened political leaders, coordinators, and stakeholders from all five local government areas comprising the senatorial district: Baruten, Kaiama, Moro, Edu, and Patigi.
Addressing the newly sworn-in executives, Ajia charged them to view their appointments as a mandate for immediate, active grassroots outreach rather than a ceremonial exercise. He directed the team to cascade the Alliance’s structures down to local government, ward, zonal, and polling-unit levels.
Setting an electoral benchmark, Ajia called on the group to mobilize at least 1.5 million votes across Kwara State for President Tinubu in 2027, noting that voter turnout in previous cycles had consistently fallen short of the state’s potential.
Ajia further emphasized reconciliation and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC). He explained that KATS was established as an inclusive platform following wide consultations across Kwara Central, South, and North to mend differences arising from recent party primaries and unite stakeholders behind a shared objective. Reflecting on his own political journey, Ajia cited his step-down from the Kwara Central senatorial race in deference to party consensus and acknowledged the mentorship of former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim in prioritizing party loyalty and public development over personal ambition.
Local government coordinators—including Mohammed Zainab (Baruten), Saidu Yusuf Sulaiman (Kaiama), Salaudeen Taye Issa (Moro), Alhaji Usman Manko Idris (Edu), and Hon. Umar Abubakar (Patigi)—pledged their commitment to the movement while calling for robust logistics, youth and women engagement, and sustained community outreach across their territories.
With the Kwara North executive now established alongside earlier structures in Kwara Central and Kwara South, KATS is finalizing preparations for a full statewide campaign launch in Ilorin.
