David Oluwafemi Okunlola, a Ph.D and lecturer at the department of agriculture of the Ladoke Akintola University, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, is likely to emerge running mate to Teslim Folarin, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 election.
This, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands, might have put to rest speculations that Ajiboye Omodewu, chairman of the APC, is positioning himself to deputise the ranking lawmaker.
Sources told OYOINSIGHT.COM that Okunlola, whose twin brother is chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in their council area, hails from Saki West local government area of Okeogun zone of Oyo State.

His name, together with his credentials, have been forwarded to the national headquarters of the party, the source added.
Another source who is in the know of happenings within Oyo APC told OYOINSIGHT.COM that “Oke-Ogun 2 leaders have settled for Dr Okunlola while Oke-Ogun 1 leaders have two other names. The committee set up for screening and interview have sent the 3 names to Sen. Teslim Folarin for him to pick one.”
