The Ilorin Emirate Staff Association, Kwara State University (IESA-KWASU), has congratulated Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba on his reappointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of Kwara State University, Malete.In a statement signed by the General Secretary, Abdullahi A. Bakare, Ph.D., and issued on behalf of the association’s Chairman, Professor Ibrahim Laro Abubakar, IESA-KWASU commended Professor Jimba for his distinguished performance during his first two-year tenure and expressed confidence in his continued leadership.
The Governing Council of KWASU recently validated Professor Jimba’s reappointment following the successful completion of his first term. Since joining the university in 2012, he has served in several leadership positions, including Head of Department, Director of the Centre for Ilorin Manuscripts, Dean of Student Affairs and Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, before his appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) in 2024.
Beyond the university, Professor Jimba also serves as Chairman of the Kwara State Arabic Education Board and Head of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, positions to which he was appointed by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in 2023.IESA-KWASU also highlighted Professor Jimba’s connection to the intellectual and spiritual legacy of Sheikh Muhammad Kamalud-Deen Al-Adabiyy, describing him as a worthy ambassador of the late scholar’s legacy.
The association further noted his contributions to the welfare of colleagues and members of the university community through financial support, mentorship and other forms of assistance.According to the association, Professor Jimba’s leadership extends beyond official responsibilities, as he relates closely with staff and subordinates and has consistently demonstrated humility, generosity and commitment to service.
The association also linked his record of service to the heritage of the Ologun Jimba family of Ilorin, traditionally associated with the defence and service of the Ilorin Emirate, describing him as a worthy successor to that legacy.IESA-KWASU congratulated Professor Jimba on the completion of his first tenure and wished him a successful and impactful second term, expressing confidence that his continued service would bring further accomplishments to KWASU, Kwara State and the wider Ilorin community.
