The Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Cooperatives and also a prominent political figure in Saki West Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Niyi Adebisi Olabode has formally resigned his membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), signaling another notable development in the evolving political landscape ahead of future political engagements in the state.
The resignation was conveyed in an official letter dated April 30, 2026, addressed to the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ward 2, Saki West Local Government, Oyo State. In the letter, Hon. Niyi stated that his resignation takes immediate effect from the same date.
Titled “Letter of Resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the document revealed that the decision was reached after what he described as “careful consideration and wide consultations,” an indication that the move may have followed extensive political engagements and strategic deliberations with associates and stakeholders within and outside the party structure.
In the strongly worded but diplomatic resignation letter, Hon. Olabode expressed gratitude to the PDP leadership and members across the ward, local government, and state levels for the support and cooperation extended to him during his time in the party.
