The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State has received a major boost ahead of the 2027 general elections as scores of African Democratic Congress (ADC) members formally dumped their party for the ruling APC over the weekend.
The defectors, hailing from Baruten Local Government Area, were led into the ruling party by a prominent grassroots figure in the area, Hon. Mohammed Sime Kora.

They were received into the APC fold by the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly and the party’s governorship candidate, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu.
Speaking on the development, Danladi-Salihu described the mass defection as clear proof of the electorate’s confidence in the developmental strides of the state government led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.

“Their defection is another testament to the growing confidence our people have in the purposeful and people-centered leadership of our amiable Governor, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON,” Danladi-Salihu stated.
Expressing optimism ahead of the upcoming general elections, the Speaker reaffirmed the party’s commitment to consolidating its political dominance in Kwara State, declaring: “Together, we will deliver victory for the APC from top to bottom! Íwájú L’À Ń Lọ!”
