The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in Akinyele Local Government led has suspended some of the leaders who worked against the directives of Governor Seyi Makinde during the Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency Primary Elections.
The leadership, led by the trio of Julius Akinsola, Gbolagun and Akin Aderibigbe, made the decision after reviewing the primary election held in the constituency.
A statement by the party’s Public Relations Officer in Akinyele local government, Morufu Gbolahan indicated that the leadership had initially agreed to work for the only aspirant from the Local Government, Yusuff Saheed.
In a sudden turn of event, on the eve of the primaries, the party’s chairman in the local government called a meeting on the directives of Governor Makinde that they should work in support of another aspirant, Kunle Yusuff.
Based on this directive, the party’s leadership alsoo ordered the 3 Ad-hoc delegates from each ward to a meeting held at the party’s office where the governor’s message was delivered.
“But unfortunately, the event was overseen by the Local Government Chairman’s younger brother Alh. Ibrahim Jimoh and 3 aides of Akinyele Local Government Chairman who sold out the consent of the people of Akinyele by working against the will of the Leadership Directives in collaboration with Alh Tiri Olaibi, Alh Muibi Akinsola, Elder JP Adisa.
“The review of the whole process ignited the decision to suspend the erring members of the forum like Alh. Tiri Olaibi, Alh Muibi Akinsola(Baba Kekere) and Elder Adisa JP until the further notice
“Akinyele is for PDP, the symbol which our God Sent Governor (GSM) represents, a deviance to any order from him is nothing but an affront of a “Kitten to a Lion” Elese kan ko gbodo lo lai jiya. Akinyele is never like any other indiscipline Political settlements, we are for GSM and we shall continue to abide by his rules,” the PRO added.
