The Member representing Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Kareem Tajudeen Abisodun, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims and residents of his constituency, as well as Nigerians across the country, on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448AH.
Abisodun, who also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on Aviation Technology, described the commencement of the new Islamic calendar as a period of spiritual reflection, renewal of faith, and collective commitment to the values that promote peace, progress, and national unity.
He urged citizens to embrace the lessons embedded in the historic migration (Hijrah) of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), emphasizing that the event remains a timeless symbol of faith, sacrifice, patience, perseverance, and unwavering trust in Almighty Allah.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the Islamic New Year, the federal lawmaker prayed for greater blessings, divine guidance, good health, and prosperity for individuals, families, and communities across Atisbo, Saki East, Saki West, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole. He expressed optimism that the new year would usher in fresh opportunities and positive transformations capable of improving the lives of the people.
According to him, the significance of Hijrah extends beyond religious observance, serving as a reminder that challenges and difficulties can be overcome through steadfastness, righteousness, and dedication to noble ideals. He noted that the occasion presents an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on their collective responsibilities toward building a more peaceful, inclusive, and prosperous society.
Abisodun further called on citizens to renew their commitment to unity, love, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence, stressing that national development can only thrive in an atmosphere of harmony and cooperation. He maintained that despite ethnic, religious, and political differences, Nigerians remain bound by a common destiny and shared aspirations for a better future.
The lawmaker encouraged residents of his constituency and Nigerians generally to continue fostering understanding among diverse groups, supporting one another in times of need, and contributing meaningfully to community development initiatives. He emphasized that sustainable growth and social stability are achievable when citizens work collectively toward common goals and prioritize the public good above sectional interests.
Addressing the nation’s security challenges, Abisodun offered prayers for lasting peace and security across the country. He appealed for divine intervention in addressing insecurity, violence, and other threats confronting various communities, while expressing hope that ongoing efforts by government and security agencies would yield greater results in safeguarding lives and property.
He also prayed for families experiencing economic hardship and other difficulties, asking Almighty Allah to grant them comfort, strength, and relief. The federal legislator further sought divine wisdom for leaders at all levels of government, urging them to remain committed to policies and programmes that promote stability, economic prosperity, and improved living standards for citizens.
“As we celebrate this new year, let us renew our commitment to unity, peace, love, and mutual understanding. Regardless of our differences, we remain one people with a shared destiny. Let us continue to promote harmony in our communities and work together for the growth and development of our constituency, our state, and our nation,” he stated.
Abisodun concluded his message by wishing Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful and rewarding Hijrah 1448AH, praying that the year would be filled with Allah’s mercy, protection, abundant blessings, fulfillment, and enduring peace for the nation.
