… Omirinde gives kudos to the Governor
A momentous chapter unfolded at the Saki West Local Government premises as Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, FNSE presents staff and instruments of office to four Baales. The ceremony, held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, marked a historic milestone for the town.
Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde, FNSE, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Olayiwola Segun Emmanuel conveyed the Governor’s approval and support for the installation of the four Baales.
While presenting the staff/instrument of office, Seyi Makinde task all the new install chiefs to find a means of reunion with their contender for peace and progress to remain in the land.
The Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters received accolades for their unwavering efforts, ensuring the success of the significant event.
While speaking, Engr. Sarafadeen Omirinde, the Chairman, Saki West Local Government welcomed dignitaries and residents to witness the official presentation of staff and instruments of office to four recently installed Baales.
Omirinde remarked, “Today’s occasion is a watershed in the annals of the history of Saki where four Baales are being installed, and I sincerely congratulate all sons and daughters of this ancient town on this joyous occasion.”
Special acknowledgment was reserved for His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Surv. Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi Oyedepo III, the Okere of Saki Land, for his invaluable support and fatherly role in the selection of the Baales. The Chairman emphasized the immeasurable contribution of the monarch to the emergence of the newly installed leaders.
The newly installed Baales, The Apeefin of Sakiland, Chief Oyelowo Joseph Oyetunde, The Lasigbon-Kinikini of Sakiland, Prince James Okanlawon Adigun, The Baale Oke-Oro of Sakiland, Alhaji Jimoh Adeola Ayiki, and The Baale Iya of Sakiland, Alhaji Raimi Aiki Boorepo, received congratulations on their emergence. They were reminded of their pivotal role as symbols of customs and traditions, urged to accommodate diverse opinions, and justified the confidence placed in them.
Chairman Omirinde assured the community that the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde is committed to a people-oriented reformation agenda, transforming every aspect of their lives in a conducive environment.
He expressed gratitude to all attendees for their commitment to the historic occasion. The Chairman pledged love and solidarity to His Excellency, promising unwavering support for the vision and mission of the administration.
In his own contribution, Hon. Niyi Adebisi, Commissioner for Training and Establishment also appreciated Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde for the privilege given to Saki to make history of this kind.
Hon Adebisi therefore advised all the new Chiefs to reciprocate all the supports from Gov. Seyi Makinde anything it’s needed.
In their seperate comment Hon. R. O Muslim (Musio)former Commissioner for Works and Dr Festus Dayo Adejumobi gave appreciation to the Governor, the duo challenge the newly installed Chiefs to make history and represent their individual families with the privilege given to them
