The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has deepened its non-kinetic operations by collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development, linking national defense to Nigeria’s agricultural goals.
Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, Chief of Civil-Military Relations, and representing Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke led the delegation included NAF Farms Limited Managing Director Air Vice Marshal Abdulrasheed Kotun and other senior officers.
The engagements underscore food security’s role in national stability and advance NAF Farms Limited, the Air Force’s key agricultural venture.
The Ministry of Livestock Development, the CAS praised Minister Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha for progress on the National Ranching Policy, livestock partnerships, and National Livestock Centres stating that the joint efforts could expand NAF’s modern livestock farms via improved breeds, veterinary services, and training in animal husbandry and agrotech.
Maiha called the move strategic, applauding NAF’s security contributions.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the CAS commend Minister Senator Abubakar Kyari for stabilizing food prices, promoting dry-season farming, and bolstering reserves.
He requested integration of NAF Farms into national programs for mechanized farming, better seedlings, and fertilizers.
Kyari pledged support, with both ministries committing to technical cooperation and policy alignment.
This positions NAF Farms as a vital non-kinetic asset for increasing food output, livelihoods, and sustainable development amid counter-insurgency operations.
