Saki West: PDP Stakeholders Debunk Rumour on Chairmanship Endorsement

Leadership of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Saki West yesterday declaimed a rumour confirming Hon. Gbenga Akinola Olaleye as the preferred candidates for the forthcoming chairmanship election, restating that Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde is still the best candidate.

This was contained in a statement signed by Alhaji Wasiu Ashiru Ayesoro, the People’s Democratic Party Chairman, Saki West Local Government.

Alh. Ayesoro stated that there was no such move by the stakeholders of the party and agreement has been made for Omirinde to recontest.

“There is no agreement that Hon. Gbenga Akinola Olaleye will be contesting for the post of Chairman in Saki West Local Government instead of Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde and there won’t be such agreement”

“All stakeholder of there party has concluded that Hon. Sarafadeen Omirinde will be contesting for second term and up till now, there are no changes on that”

“Any information misleading our people that Hon. Gbenga has been chosen is therefor not valid.”

Another stakeholders of the party, also the ALGON Chairman, Alfa Yahyah Badmus noted that it’s not right to make such decision without the consent of the leadership of the party

Alfa Yahaya also debunk rumour stating that all the Councilors in the local government are up to the task to run for second term except Ward 9.

“Works are ongoing in different wards to roll out the names of qualified candidates to contest for the post of Councilor in the forth coming election”

“We haven’t conclude on any candidate and we urge all good people of Saki to stay away from such information”

The woman leader of the party in the local government, Alhaja Damilola Taiwo, has emphasized that the choosing of the chairmanship candidates or Councilor should come from the party stakeholders and member not some group of people who believes they are above the party.

Other stakeholders has now called on the governor of Oyo State to rise to the issue of the party so as not to allow some people to tarnish the image of the party because of self interest.
